ATTENTION ALL POTENTIAL SHEHAQUA GROUP LEADERS!!!
-Group Leaders, Group Leader Assistants, Activity Assistants (those who help out with afternoon activities for Stars (1st and 2nd Grade) and Moons (3rd and 4th Grade))
This year, an incredible 3-day Leadership Retreat is being offered at no cost to you right before the start of camp, Fri. July 22 - Sun. July 24. This Leadership Retreat will offer a unique opportunity for all Shehaqua Group Leaders to have a lot of fun, bond with one another (before taking on group members), and experience personal growth.
Possible activities include: a massive scavenger hunt, sports competitions, and/or an overnight hike. Discussion-driven educational sessions will also give you the opportunity to gain and develop essential skills and tools for being an effective leader at Camp Shehaqua and beyond.
This retreat is only open to those who take on a group leadership position at Camp Shehaqua. Due to the importance of building unity among the Shehaqua leadership team and making sure all Shehaqua leaders are spiritually and physically equipped to lead their teams, participation in this retreat is mandatory for all Shehaqua Group Leaders and Group Assistants.
We encourage you to attend Shehaqua for 2 weeks and take on a group leadership position for at least one of the weeks. This will allow you to experience the Leadership Retreat, and also give you the opportunity to be a participant if you would like. (Being a participant is also a valuable experience!) A special discount of the Leadership Retreat and Shehaqua 1.5 will be given for FREE (a $150 value!) to those who attend both weeks.
Even if you can only attend one week, we would still love to have you as a group leader! Those who are only able to attend Week 1 and would like to be group leaders will receive the Leadership Retreat (Fri. July 22 - Sun. July 24) for free. Those who are only able to attend Week 2 and would like to be group leaders are required to attend Shehaqua 1.5 at no cost to you and will receive an abbreviated leadership training during this time (Fri. July 29- Sun July 31).
