Shehaqua Fall Festival

Fri. October 4 — Sun. October 6

Come join us for a weekend of fun family fall activities (candle dipping, leaf art, log toss, sack racing, ax throwing, pumpkin carving/painting, etc.), a bonfire with hot apple cider, square dancing with a professional "caller" on a Saturday night hoedown, and some spiritual reflection out in the beautiful Poconos Mountains! This festival is for the whole family, adults young and older, and anyone looking to connect with a wonderful community of people.

Remember to Bring

  • Weather: Please check the weather for White Haven, PA prior to coming, it can be quite cold this time of year (or it could be 50's, variable).
  • Warm Clothes! Weather-appropriate clothing for outdoor activities.
  • Warm sleeping bag or blankets.
  • DRESS UP FOR HOEDOWN: Country attire (plaid shirts, long skirts, boots, hats, handkerchief, suspenders, etc :). Bring some spare to share!

Friday, October 4

5:00pm - Arrival & Set up your cabin
6:00pm - Dinner
7:30pm - Bonfire, Open Mic, Hot Apple Cider

Saturday, October 5

8:00am - Breakfast
9:30am - Education

  • Kids: Curriculum will be similar to typical Shehaqua education, to be discussed in more detail with the teachers.
  • Adults: Topics TBD based on attendee presenters, examples: Early Career Decisions, Practical Spirituality, Making Lots of $$, Marriage & Sex, Wins & Fails as a Parent, etc.
    • The format is 15-20 minutes of content followed by discussion.
12:00pm - Lunch
1:30pm - Begin Festivities!
  • Leaf art, pumpkin carving / painting, nature hike, trail race, log toss, sack racing, ax throwing, candle dipping, volleyball, etc. Activities will be whichever things people want to lead, share during registration!
5:30pm - Dinner
6:30pm - Hoedown (Square dancing - Plaid & Cowboy Fits welcome!)

Sunday, October 6

8:00am - Breakfast
9:00am - Education / Family Time

  • Kids: Initially guided by a presenter and then opportunity for discussions as a family about God, questions kids have, etc.
  • Adults: Topics TBD based on attendee presenters, examples: Early Career Decisions, Practical Spirituality, Making Lots of $$, Marriage & Sex, Wins & Fails as a Parent, etc.
    • The format is 15-20 minutes of content followed by discussion.
10:00am - Clean Up Camp Together!
  • This is an important part of Shehaqua culture, many hands make light work : )
11:30am - Depart (no lunch provided)
