Please note that Week 2 will be one day longer this year than the other camps. Hurray for an extra day of camping!
All ages are welcome to attend any week of Shehaqua Family Camp, but this year Week 3 will have a special focus on families with children grade 6 and below. The schedule will remain mostly the same as in previous years, but there will be a few significant changes, such as ending evening programs earlier, strictly enforcing the curfew of quiet after 10pm to make it easier for parents to get their younger children to bed, and more kid-friendly food options offered at meal times.
There will also be some important additions to the education. In addition to the usual education tracks, a young parent education track will be offered, which will allow young parents to listen to presentations and participate in discussions that address issues relevant to their unique experience and spiritual need. There will also be more presenters and group leaders for each of the elementary age groups than in previous years. As always, the education for the elementary age groups will be exceptional.

In addition to the regular camp schedule, Week 3 will feature a Health and Healing Retreat for adults lead by Gregg Noll. It is called the “Kick Start Your Health" program because it's all about getting on a path to improve your personal health and the health of your family. There will be presentations on topics such as organic farming, foraging, eating nutrient dense food, detoxifying, massage therapy, exercising at home or office, healthy living and the environment, as well as talks and discussions on emotional issues that lead to food addictions, and health problems. We will also have plenty of opportunities to move our bodies and refresh our souls through yoga, Qi gong, Tai Chi, hiking, and swimming. Tasty food demos will empower us to live a healthier lifestyle back at home. Healthy Gourmet Chef Elke will be managing all the delicious food offerings throughout the week.
Come with your family, or come by yourself, and enjoy the Poconos, the blueberries and all the wonderful people at Camp Shehaqua. Your body and soul will thank you for years to come!
Save the date: Sunday, July 8 – Friday, July 20, Victor Servito, together with Timothy Forringer, Kyra Moyer, Oliver Noll, and Chunky Wright will be leading a vision quest program for highschool age kids with some leadership experience. More details to follow soon in a future newsletter.
