Hello Shehaqua Community!
I am pleased to introduce to you the theme for the spring gathering this year: Beyond Boundaries. Laura, Jonathan, and I are very excited to take part in planning this year's spring gathering event and we hope that you can join us the weekend of May 18th-20th for an exciting adventure filled with friends, fun, spiritual enrichment, and challenge. Some of the activities for the weekend will include white-water rafting, paintballing, a sports tournament, and a hike.
Register now as space is limited! Prices will vary depending on when you sign up and the activities you would like to do. The early bird special will last until Sunday, April 22nd, so don't miss it! After the early bird you will still be able to register until Sunday, May 6th. The cost covers accommodations at Shehaqua, meals prepared by Aunt Elke Noll, group activities in the morning and night, and your choice of daytime activities. Click here for pricing details and here to register. Please note that if you bring someone to Shehaqua for the first time, you both will receive a 10% discount. Spread the word and save some money!
All the best,
Ariella Brunkhorst
Our popular quiz “How Well Do You Know Shehaqua” is back. Visitors of our Facebook page might remember that we started this quiz last year. We show you a detail of an image taken at Camp Shehaqua, and you have to guess the exact location. The first one to guess it correctly wins a point, and the overall winner is the person who gets the most correct answers. This year we have a prize for the winner: A $20 gift certificate from Amazon.com.
Some of the pictures will be hard to guess. In some cases we rotated the image to make it harder, so don’t let that throw you off. Here is a sample from last year. The question was where the detail pictured on the top left was from, and the correct answer was "The arts & crafts cabin."
This year we will post two new pictures per week, usually on Friday and Sunday evenings. An important change from last year is that you are allowed only one answer/guess per image. If you give more than one answer, it doesn’t count even if your second guess is right. If nobody comes up with the right answer within 48 hours, we will post an expanded view of the same image, or we will give a hint. At that point, everybody can again participate and post one guess.
We will post a total of 20 pictures or quiz questions. There won’t be any new posts during the Shehaqua Spring Gathering.
Visit our Facebook page now and start guessing, the first picture is already up. Let’s see who knows Camp Shehaqua best.
