Subject: | Shehaqua Harvest Festival (deadline Sep. 13), Week 1 Slideshow |
Date: | Sep 7, 2013 - 7 pm |
This Friday, September 13, is the last day for paying for the discounted fee for the Harvest Festival. Don’t wait and register here now.
The Shehaqua Harvest Festival is just two weeks away, and we are really excited to see all of you soon! This year’s festival is going to be jam-packed with fun activities and great food! We will be having our LIVE BAND again, and we will introduce some new crafts, as well as bring back as many of last year’s crafts. (We are looking for volunteers to help out with these activities. The responsibility isn't huge, and if you'd love to give back to the Shehaqua Community in a low-stress way by volunteering to lead a craft, please contact Felicitas Moyer or Kyra Moyer at [email address redacted].)
One new activity we are trying to introduce is T-shirt tie-dying! Dye and supplies will be provided, but you have to bring your own plain white T-shirt or a bandana or any other small item! How wonderful to make your own souvenir to bring home! If you are planning on tie-dying, please email Kyra to ensure there will be enough paint. We will also be having a potluck dessert table. Families, please bring your own home-made desserts so we can celebrate the spirit of harvest together. Healthy desserts are more than welcome, too! I can't wait to see you there! Yee-haw!

Be sure to wear your "country finest," as these gentlemen did at the 2011 Harvest Festival. Send us a picture of you in your outfit from this year, and we will publish it in our next newsletter.
The Family is God's School of Love! God lives and experiences joy within each of our families. No matter what goes on in the world, our movement, or in our lives, the one thing that remains consistent are the relationships in our families—they will never go away.
Let's take an opportunity to strengthen these bonds of love at the Shehaqua Harvest Festival. Let us learn about healthy relationships and share our challenges and victories together to open our hearts to God. During the weekend we will hear a Unification Thought presentation on family, testimonies, and do an active listening activity together. Come and enjoy the beautiful outdoors of the Pocono Mountains and experience God's overwhelming Love in the people that are most important in each of your lives!
—Victor Servito, education director of 2013 Shehaqua Harvest Festival
Unification News published an article about our summer programs:
"Hundreds of Unificationists and their guests are raving about the fun and spiritually nourishing Shehaqua Family Camp in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. Young Unificationists served as directors, presenters and counselors of the camp, which came to a close on Saturday August 10, 2013. This summer, 17-year-old Nathan Hinkle, a Unificationist-born youth who has been camping with his family since infancy, invited several of his friends from high school..." read more
