The early bird registration discount is approaching in a few days. Pay for camp by May 31 to get the discount. The prices will go up starting June 1. Mailed checks need to be postmarked by May 31 to qualify for the early bird discount; you can find the mailing address here.

To all of you who already mailed or will mail checks: A big thank-you! This helps us save on credit card fees.

And a thank-you to all of you who already registered. Your early registration helps us with planning and organizing.

Shehaqua at 20, Part II:
How the Family (and Family Camp) Became the Main Focus

As we learned in Part I of this article, Shehaqua Family Camp started in 1995 with a gathering of families. In 1997 and 1998 a youth camp was held in addition to Family Camp. However, by the end of 1998 it was decided that the focus going forward would be on Family Camp only. The consensus was that Family Camp really makes the most lasting impression on the children. If Mom and Dad are singing and praying around the campfire and growing in their faith, it sets a powerful example for their children. It also provides for shared memories and a natural way to pass on the traditions of our movement. So, for the summer of 1999, the whole camp was a Family Camp at Camp Shehaqua (which fortunately was available again).

Reserve Your T-Shirts and Hoodies!

If you would like to buy one of our new t-shirts and be sure that your size will be available at the camp store, please reserve it online until June 20. (Payment is not due until you get the t-shirt at camp.) The risk of not preordering your t-shirt or hoodie is that your size might be sold out by the time you get to camp. All shirts and hoodies reserved online by June 20 will be included in our final order with the printer, and the shirt/hoodie will be kept for you until you pick it up at camp.
