Vision Quest 2015, June 30–July 17
Dear parents of high school age students, dear high school students,
We still have room for applicants to join us on this year's Vision Quest. If you are looking for excitement, adventure, and a deep experience with your brothers and sisters, then Vision Quest is the program for you. Our trip will begin on June 30th in Philadelphia, PA, and finish at Camp Shehaqua on July 17th. We will have a leadership workshop in beautiful Gloucester, MA, a challenging hike through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, an engaging service project in Acadia National Park, and a chance to experience life on a farm! Further information and a video that speaks a thousand words are available at shehaquavisionquest.com. Apply on our website. If you have any questions, please contact Kyra Moyer at [email address redacted]. We look forward to a great summer with you.
Shehaqua Storage Gets Cleaned Up
Shehaqua rents a year-round storage place near Camp Shehaqua, where we keep all the equipment needed to run our camps. Kitchen equipment (pots, pans, utensils, toasters, microwaves), brooms, bathroom supplies, electric cables, whiteboards, sports equipment, crafts supplies, and more—at the beginning of our programs everything needs to be moved from our storage to Camp Shehaqua, and at the end of the programs everything needs to go back to the storage.
A few of your fellow Shehaquians from the Logistics Circle met at our storage shed on Saturday, May 9, to reorganize its contents.
The storage before cleanup. The storage is too full! The entire floor is filled with items, so it's difficult to find something when you need it.
Everything is out of the storage and we started sorting the items. The new boxes reduces the loose items on the shelves.
The boxes are filled and are going back in the shed. Items used for every program go near the front and items used only in summer near the back.
The crew poses for you.
The boxes are numbered to help you find the box holding the toasters and other important items like whiteboard markers. The colored duct tape will help the move-out crew put the boxes in the same area they came from.
AAAAARRRG! The shed doesn't look any emptier. There are less boxes on the floor behind the items in the front, though, and some of the plastic in the front is trash that will be removed later. The important part is we have an inventory of the shed and we can find items when we need them.
