The Future of Shehaqua
Dear Shehaqua Camper,
In our last newsletter we announced the beginning of the Shehaqua Council election. There are only two days left to vote (votes are accepted until Saturday, February 20, at midnight). If you haven’t voted yet, please do so now. The response so far has been very small.
The Council is an important part of the Shehaqua governance structure: It establishes and reviews policies; approves the yearly budget; and supervises the Operations Team and all other circles, among other things. In other words, the Council really shapes the future of Shehaqua. Having people on the Council that represent your views and concerns is important. Six seats are open, but if you don’t know all the candidates it’s okay to vote for less than six. The important thing is that you vote, and show through your participation that you care.
